What appears when choreography is approached not as a fixed form, but as a landscape to wander through and experiment between mediums? Azahara is interested in choreography as an expanded field of relations. 

Following on from some open sessions earlier this year, Azahara Ubera Biedma is hosting some more sessions around their work Landscapes of Research. There will be an open sharing of these rehearsals at Sadler’s Wells East on the 30th of October. They are hosting these open sessions as an expression of interest for dancers, movers, and practitioners to join this process. Azahara is encouraging the F.L.I.N.T.A. community to apply.

Azahara Ubera Biedma is an artist and choreographer undertaking a collaborative PhD between Rose Choreographic School and Goldsmiths, University of London. Their research grows from a desire to bring queer theory into intimate relation with embodied knowledge, listening to what bodies know, sense and invent together. The research is particularly interested in the potential of choreography and collective practices as spaces for other ways of relating, sensing and being together.

Azahara will host 4 open workshops for people to come and understand the research before committing to a rehearsal and sharing process. These workshops will be free to attend. The dates of these are below:

- 30th September, 6:45-9:15pm

- 1st October, 6:45-9:15pm

- 7th October, 6:45-9:15pm

- 8th October, 6:45-9:15pm

Following these open workshops, if you would be interested in participating in the October sharing, we will invite you into the paid rehearsal and a first sharing of this process. Azahara is looking for around 8 people. You need to be able to commit to at least 3 rehearsals and the sharing date, details below:

- 14th October, 6:45-9:15pm

- 15th October, 6:45-9:15pm

- 21st October, 6:45-9:15pm

- 22nd October, 6:45-9:15pm

- 30th October, 10am-12:30pm

Public sharing:

- 30th October, 2:30-5:00pm
